fab HIPS
HIPS, or High Impact Polystyrene, is a versatile 3D printing material known for its excellent impact resistance, smooth finish, and ease of use. This lightweight and durable filament is particularly valued as a support material when printing complex designs with ABS, thanks to its solubility in limonene. HIPS filaments are also ideal for creating prototypes, architectural models, and functional parts.

1. Print in a well-ventilated space to manage fumes, as ABS FR emits odor during printing.
2. Use an enclosed 3D printer to control temperature fluctuations and reduce warping or cracking.
3. Ensure the print bed is preheated and leveled correctly for optimal first-layer adhesion.
1For improved adhesion, use ABS slurry or Kapton tape on the heated bed.
2Post-process parts using acetone vapor smoothing for a polished, professional finish.
3Avoid excessive cooling; keep fan speeds low or off to minimize warping during the print.
4Store in a dry environment to avoid filament degradation.
